A.J. Danboise Son, Inc. is a family owned and operated business. Established in 1925 under the direction of Alex Joseph Danboise, our first shop was located in Detroit at Grand River and Spokane. It was a combination plumbing and hardware shop! The company has grown and moved over the last seven decades to accommodate our customers and the changing needs of our business.

Hall Danboise took over his father's company in 1966, carrying on the family name and the reputation for quality. After graduating from college, Carol Danboise began working with her father learning all aspects of the industry and business with the intention of one day carrying on the company. In 1972 Carol married coworker Jack Gatewood.

In 1975 we moved our shop to a larger building at 5 mile and Beech Daly in Redford, allowing us to develop and expand our Commercial services. Jack received his Master Plumbers license in 1975, and his Mechanical Contractors License in 1978. After her father's death in 1978, Carol and Jack took over the complete day to day running of this growing company.

By 1989 A.J. Danboise Son, Inc. had outgrown the facility in Redford and found a new home on 10 mile and Orchard Lake in Farmington Hills. This larger facility allowed us to expand and include Electrical, Sewer and Duct Cleaning services as well as Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning.

In June of 1996, we relocated to our present location at Grand River and Orchard Lake. This latest move tripled our space and allowed us to add a complete parts department, an in-house sheet metal fabrication shop, and triple our inventory size to better serve our customers' needs.

In May of 2000, we officially opened a second location on Grand River Avenue in Howell. We have since closed this office, but still service the area, and have future plans of buying property to build on rather than lease and keep our presence there.

To facilitate the growth of our individual departments, the commercial service division split from A.J. Danboise Son to become a wholly separate mechanical contractor on January 1, 2004. Danboise Mechanical Inc. services the mechanical needs of southeastern Michigan businesses.

The owners of A.J. Danboise Son, Inc., Jack and Carol Gatewood, have grown up in this company and it has grown and expanded greatly since its early days, as well. First and foremost, A.J. Danboise Son, Inc. is a family owned business. It is important for our employees to be "one of the family" and promote that image to our customers, because even though the company keeps growing and changing, a feeling of family will always be at the heart of A.J. Danboise Son, Inc.
